hmmmm... i can not really believe that ... the sdr is pointing to the sat with a dish ... right?

so he used 2.4 gig towards the eshail sat ... and the downlink is then received at the web sdr

how can he been using 10ghz direct to the web sdr?? if that sdr has only a dish towards the sat??

With the  establishment of a web-linked  SDR at  Goonhilly Cornwall  , providing a  10GHz down link,
for the  new   
Es'Hail 2 (Oscar 100) GEO Sat, the down link , the sdr,  may also be accessed directly at 10 GHz 


Using 10 mW to a 95 cm dish,  Peter,  has taken the  concept  of DIY_DX to  new level's ! ,


By gaining access to the  10Gz sdr  directly  and  monitoring the  web linked feed  at 
 10489603.5 USB, 

his own opera op05 scatter  transmissions are  being  regularly  decoded  , over a  land path of app 550 miles ,

During  testing,  power was reduced  by  10 dB , to  1 mW  , with  the recovered signal s/n level of -18/-19 dB , 

My  local screen,  decoding the  tests  via the  web-linked  sdr , some  Doppler widening of the  signal
is visible on the  waterfall 

Note ,  The  highest settable frequency  , is 1296, due to  the  reporting being  based on the  
psk-map,  the  1296 decoder is  optimized  for scatter  and the  EME path , Opera modes are 
band linked ,  hence the  speeds  a  addressed  by  band  change , 




A rolling record  of the  beacons  spots , are  view able  on the  Ea on line  data  base , 
beacon power is  now  set  at 10 mW    , sample of the  path s/n

-NB Check  carefully the  text messages , attached to the  QTH field  in the  opera  reports, where details of activity can be  added, Usage , has far out stripped the  original  reporting  system !  if you  monitoring  10GHz ,  add the  'full  stop' to the front of the  call , to  register as  10GHz on the  Ea data  base ,  .PA1  etc

All is not  as it seems,  -6 is strong signal .  but  the  % data  loss  is  high  at the  moment 
assume ,its  being lost on the  10 G down link -rain  scatter  or something ?
