New SW Radiogram program is available

Hello to all the digital folks out there.

A new program for the Shortwave Radiogram broadcasts has now been posted on the SW Radiogram website. Note that this broadcast will be repeated next week.

If you're new to decoding digital, this is a pretty nice way to get your feet wet. You can use your desktop or laptop, or you can use an Android device such as a smartphone or tablet. You can find links to the SW Radiogram website, software for decoding, and wiki articles with extensive details and help at: http://www.udxf.nl/events.html.

If you'd like to see a list of web receivers (which are often reported as being used), receiver, transceiver and SDR applications and more, take a look at the SW Radiogram gateway at https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Shortwave_Radiogram_Gateway

Help is also available on Facebook and Twitter. The SW Radiogram website has the links.

Radio Northern Europe International has announced its new schedule for program 29.
See https://rnei.org/2022/04/29/radio-northern-europe-international-show-29-announcement/

KBC Radio in the Netherlands also uses digital modes in their broadcasts.  They usually announce the frequency, time and modes they are going to use on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TheMightyKbc

Here's hoping for good propagation

Thanks for that :)

Re: VARA & The PSK-MAP

Graham

The PSK-Map as its name suggests was developed, when psk31 was the  only  mode in use , the  map sought, to  provide a  spotting
facility, to  show the  users,  cq's and  qso's , long before reverse beacons  etc

since then its expanded to provide a communal data base for  modes used  on the  ham and cb bands , the data base provides  a one year storage of spots
and can be accessed  via html  sql  , a file is exported that  opens in MS EXL

https://pskreporter.info/pskmap.html#

This is the  TEXT  qso front end  , coded by 4z1ac to  front the  VARA modem , quite simple to  use, now provides CAT control
for  most rig's , The VARA modem remains compatible with  winlink , vara chat and the  varAC  app , a beacon
mode has been added to the  modem along with a  CQ function , accessed via the  Chat apps
provides a  live test ARQ qso , similar to AMTOR in days of old, but at much reduced  s/n , I used to  need  ~ 200  watts
to  work  usa east coast with  Amtor on 7 mhz , the  same with  Vara  20  watts  using the  same  40 ft vertical.

Re: VARA & The PSK-MAP

Never having heard of the psk map et al but as I do own a copy of Vara and am interested would you mind providing some links to start me off?

VARA & The PSK-MAP

Graham

Trials are under way, linking  VARA to the  PSK-Map. via the  varAC  chat application
listing as VARAC ,

The ADIF inclusion remains  in a rather quaint Mexican standoff
over singular  modulation definitions and designations , be it that  simple,
eg olivia has a phase component in the  modulation, hence it  needs a  linear
transmission path , listed as mfsk , but with   phase angle as well  , could be  listed as psk
fsk , only  2 tones ?  chirp, is  also  fsk with  sliding tone .. and so on -

14.105 +/-   showing  quite  high usage, noting the  map is only  showing spots from the  test version
with limited  distribution , but still a  insight into  use

Appears the  next release /8 will  have the  psk-map  web linkage

New version of the modem  , provides  TUNE function from the  varAC  application
and  control of the  power level as well as  many new features,

Re: UZ7HO Soundmodem AWG host port busy

John G8BPQ

Ted,

It means the TCP port specified in the AGWPE Server Port in the devices
config is being used by some other software. You can change it to an unused
port.

It is also possible you already have Soundmodem running. A second copy will
report that error.

John G8BPQ

Re: PS2x5 mode?

KF3F

Have not seen any activity on the bands. What would be the suggested 20m frequency?

PS2x5 mode?

Sholto Fisher

Anyone tried PS2x5 mode yet? It's in TrueTTY see https://www.truetty.com/en/products/truetty/history/

Sounds a bit like RTTY on steroids lol

I always thought that the ARDOP modem was included in the WinLink distribution.

Re: ARDOP download ?

There should be several files that start with "ARDOP_Win" in your top "RMS Express" directory.

When you start an ARDOP session, the ARDOP TNC opens a window in the task bar, similar to VARA HF. You'll need to open that window to configure the ARDOP TNC (specifically to select the right sound devices). Thanks to you, I logged my first ARDOP session successfully this morning!

Re: ARDOP download ?

Oh!  I wondered about that possibility but nothing popped up when I typed "ardop" in the search bar. I'll go back and do a better search.
Thanks
